I don't directly track your presence on this website. Your IP address is logged and I look at the server logs on occasion, but this is in an aggregate fashion for the purpose of determining why people visit my pages. What I'm most interested in specifically are two things: The websites that link to mine and send traffic here, and which countries visitors are located in.

If you leave a link in a comment or message, I'll probably follow the link. I'm assuming you want me to find you if you make your contact information easily findable.

I don't directly set cookies from my pages, but I do run a number of scripts from providers such as Google for example. All of these set web browser cookies. Google in particular quietly collects a tremendous amount of data on your browsing habits, and my pages participate in that data collection.

"Cookies" are data sent to your web browser from a web server (such as Google) that can uniquely identify your computer and store information about user preferences. Most web browsers will accept cookies by default, but they can be set to reject cookies, either from all websites or from specific sites. You can also manually delete cookies from your web browser. These options are generally set through a "Privacy" setting in your browser setup.
(Please note that disabling cookies might limit options offered by some websites for functions like online banking or shopping f.e.)

Contents of pages reached through external links are subject to the responsibility of their respective owners and are property of their respective authors.

In order to correspond with the spirit of the web (investigate, surf, search etc.) I set a large number of links to other sites on my pages. Therefore it's not possible for me to examine the current contents of all of them, even, if I do this occasionally in a random sampling way.

Deal with the use of contents for information purposes in a responsible and fair way, for example by showing just a fragment (if not expressly forbidden) with a reference to the source + URL. In case of doubts, contact the holder of the content source.
